In March 2026, the child began experiencing symptoms including abdominal distension, increased water intake, and frequent urination at night. Following further evaluation, he was diagnosed with an intracranial malignant germ cell tumor at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.
He subsequently underwent multiple cycles of chemotherapy. After completing part of his chemotherapy, he still required further treatment, including additional chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The prolonged treatment placed considerable financial and emotional pressure on his family. As a single-parent family, his mother has accompanied and cared for him throughout his treatment journey.
After learning about the family's circumstances, GCCC decided to provide the child with free proton therapy, helping reduce the financial burden on his family and allowing him to continue his treatment with greater peace of mind.
